Vuelta a España; Stage 20. Arenas de San Pedro- Plataforma de Gredos.

Friday September 13th, 2019

Last chance before Madrid, long mountain stage without big climbs but without a flat meter, watch out for team tactics!

We are in stage 20, after 3 weeks of continuous efforts before a stage that without seemingly having large climbs is a real ambush and “the combat fight” is assured.

This time we will analyze the stage from the point of view of a sports director, in this case we will put ourselves in the shoes of strong teams that will try to dethrone Primoz Roglic in the last attempt of this Vuelta 2019. On the way out, we find a port of 1st category, the port of Pedro Bernardo where it will surely go up to block with escape attempts that possibly the leader’s team can control since they have a powerful block. The problem will have it after the first great descent that leaves us at the foot of the port of 2nd category Alto de Navatalgordo, a short climb but with a peculiarity “barely has a descent”, suitable land for ambushes; the flat courses and the continuous ups and downs will be the biggest challenges for the control of the stage by the Primoz Roglic team that will have to be smart and look at the wheel of a Miguel Ángel López since he is the only one who has a powerful team as to control the skirmishes of Team Movistar. We are facing a stage where it will not be easy to surprise since everyone waits for battle but it is time for alliances, to keep an “Ace” up his sleeve and put on Poker’s face.
